New arrivals to retirement communities are tending to arrive in clusters from hundreds of miles away, affirming and re-creating social bonds that existed in the old place. Developers are starting to respond to this trend, encouraging groups of friends to buy together and predicting new offerings of mini-compounds, where old friends from the old neighborhood can live out their retirement together.
