Ventura, California looks destined to become the new model for smart growth with the addition of another smart growth expert, Ann Daigle.
Smart code expert Ann Daigle joins a small cadre of prominent and progressive smart growth leaders in the city of Ventura, CA.
"The city of Ventura is in the midst of replacing its rigid zoning code with one more concerned with form and character of buildings and less concerned with use and density.
And last month's hiring of Ann Daigle as urban development manager brings on board a reputable architect and "smart code" expert who has spent the past two years traveling the country helping cities to do just such.
...Daigle comes to Ventura from PlaceMakers, a Miami-based urban design and planning firm she helped create two years ago and for which she traversed the nation offering smart code workshops.
She says in Ventura she has the opportunity to truly practice what she has been preaching for 20 years. She came because she was convinced city leadership is looking for real solutions."
