The good news is that Center City's population has jumped. The bad news is that the increase is offset by a loss in office jobs.

Center City's residential real estate market continues to boom, fueled by young professionals and affluent empty nesters relocating.But Center City continues to lose well-paying office jobs, a trend that must be reversed if it is to remain the $10-billion-a-year "locomotive" for the region, said Paul R. Levy, president of the Center City District.
