Leading the Miami 21 effort is Miami Mayor Manny Diaz. He announced his commitment to a better planned Miami during his first inaugural address after his election in November, 2001. And while a number of major projects have been planned and are now underway there, Miami 21 will finally provide the kind of comprehensive framework for action that the Mayor seeks.

One of the members of the Miami 21 planning team is Patrick Phillips. He is president of Economics Research Associates or ERA, and his firm is handling the economic analysis for Miami's neighborhoods, a task he has handled for a range of real estate investors and developers, public agencies and financial institutions.Smart City host Carol Coletta finds out more about Miami 21 from Miami Mayor Manny Diaz and ERA President Patrick Phillips on the the Smart City radio show.
