A 53-minute documentary from 1961 on Philadelphia's traffic congestion problems, reported by legendary local TV newsman John Facenda, is recovered and restored.

"The 'reunited' film addresses familiar topics: how can we fix [Philadelphia's] traffic-jam mess and solve the financial problems of the local transit lines?

It also has lots of footage of Philadelphia landmarks and cars.

Major local transportation players at the time recommended "an interlockingnetwork of high-speed rail lines" as the solution to downtown trafficcongestion. Only one of those linesever opened--the Delaware River Port Authority's PATCO High-Speed Linefrom Center City to Lindenwold, N.J., placed in service in 1969.
