Minnesotan Mayors Demand Upgrades To Transportation

Transportation issues remains a top issue with Minnesotan citizens -- so why isn't the current legislation doing anything about it?

"Minnesotans expect their lawmakers to find a workable long-term solution to our state's transportation needs.

As the mayors of cities within the 11-county metropolitan region, we represent roughly 3 million people in the nation's 14th largest metropolitan area. Our constituents continually share with us their growing frustration with routinely sitting in traffic congestion that continues to worsen. The 2005 Urban Mobility Report, a national report card on congestion by the Texas Transportation Institute ranked the Twin Cities fifth worst among 26 metropolitan areas of similar size for the rate at which congestion has worsened since 1982."
