The small Mississippi town is beneffiting from a unique business approach.
"Prior to Wal-Mart Supercenter opening in July 2003, there was little shopping in the area around the I-55 exit in Madison. There were no big box stores, and retail shops in Madison mainly were locally owned.
Lowe's Home Improvement Center, scheduled to open June 21, will be the third major retailer to open near the interchange. A movie theater is also under construction and will open by the end of the year. Several shopping centers are nearing completion as well."
