The Center for Transportation Excellence issues a response to a recent Heritage Foundation editorial, "Is It Cheaper To Lease Cars For Transit Riders?".

The response concludes that "Transit costs taxpayers a little more than $17 million a year. And what about the Bimmers, highway and parking lots? Taxpayers would have to dish out $166 million per year."
