The FBI is now investigating allegations that Southwest Housing Development Co. bribed Dallas building officials.
"A federal investigation into possible corruption at Dallas City Hall centers on a real estate development company and allegations that its agents bribed public officials to smooth the way for some of its projects, The Dallas Morning News has learned.
Ms. Miller said that in the last year, the city has approved an extraordinary number of tax-credit housing projects. Southwest Housing is one of two primary development companies the city uses for such projects. As of November, the company had built 10 such projects within the city limits."
