A US federal government report has drawn attention to serious deficiencies in current standards for skyscraper safety.

An American federal panel is calling for major changes in the planning, construction and operation of skyscrapers to increase the chance of survival in terrorist attacks. The panel says that fireproofing of steel for tall buildings is flawed.
