Hooker County, Nebraska has fewer than 1,000 people. Set amidst the rolling waves of the enchanting and mysterious Sandhill prairie of north-central Nebraska, the county is well endowed with unique and beautiful scenery, but the small towns and economies of the region struggle mightily. The remoteness of the area is an asset in some ways and a curse in others. Is high-end golf the answer for this region, or is it opening the door to destruction of this precious prairie system and the character of these still wild-west communities?
