A battle is being fought over the seven-year, $8.6 billion water-management plan for restoring the Delta. "Republicans balk at efforts by Democrats to quickly shape how to direct the seven-year CalFed water management plan." The plan aims to restore damaged fish and wildlife habitat in the Delta, and increase state water storage. The plan could call for leveling the Los Vaquero dam to make place for a new one designed to increase storage capacity.
