State and Federal officials signed a plan outlining comprehensive water management measure in California. The $390 million plan aims to restore the Bay-Delta ecosystem. "[A]lthough the plan relies on expansion of existing dams and new underground reservoirs, CalFed also outlines what could be the mostsignificant water storage initiative in California since the dam-buildingheyday of the 1950s and '60s."
