Golf course developers are shooting for higher environmental standards.
More and more golf course developers are turning to environmental consultants or even full-time environmental project managers to help ensure that their courses have as benign an impact as possible on the surrounding ecosystems. They have found that with proper foresight and managementincorporating current applicable regulationsgolf courses can be affordable, accessible, and environmentally sound preserves of open space, as well as highly profitable ventures. Many are even finding that responsible and sustainable compromises in course siting, design, and maintenance can end up increasing the value of their courses, especially their marketing value.
