High-Flying Wetlands in San Francisco

Officials agree on plan to authorize $30 million to restore wetlands near San Francisco's airport.

Governor Gray Davis, lawmakers and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown agreed to have the state earmark $30 million of the $150 million or so needed to cover California's share of the purchase of salt flats owned by the Cargill Salt Co. The flats would then be restored to wetlands.
