Landuse groups say President Clinton exceeded his authority by clamping new restrictions on 1.5 million acres in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Washington state.
Landuse groups will challenge in federal court President Clinton' clamping new restrictions on 1.5 million acres in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Washington state saying he exceeded his authority. The lawsuit seeks to "overturn creation of the monuments, which are among 10 Clinton designated this year on 4 million acres the government already owned. Mining, logging, oil drilling and off-road vehicle use are banned or restricted in the monuments."
