"If you build it, more pollution will come... That is the conclusion of a study released Monday by two environmental groups, which makes a link between suburban sprawl and storm water runoff...

Environmental experts say storm water runoff is typically contaminated with four types of pollutants: oil and grease; animal waste; pesticides and fertilizers; and dirt, sand and road salt. In Macomb County, those contaminants make their way across land or through drains to rivers and streams, and eventually to Lake St. Clair."
