UK University Campus Goes Green

At Bradford U. the master plan aims to create a sustainable campus.

Housing, academic buildings and campus landscape are all going green at Bradford University. New construction and renovation to the tune of Â£70m at the 10,000 student campus are part of a deep commitment to change. Estimates for full implementation of the master plan are Â£200m.

The universtiy ultimately expects to save in on-going expenses under the new plan, which also will immerse students in a green environment.

"The Higher Education Funding Council for England published a strategy last year which put sustainability at the heart of the higher education agenda. ...Bradford is the first university to have a go at sustainability on such a large scale...
