Using a wide array of economic and social indicators, the Metropolitan Policy Program has compiled the first in a series of monthly snapshots of economic and both short term and long term reconstruction trends.
"Rebuilding New Orleans and the Gulf area is costing billions of dollars and transforming the lives of millions of people. To benchmark the progress made in this effort, we have created this index of economic and social indicators that measure the impact of rebuilding efforts in Orleans Parish, the New Orleans metropolitan area, Louisiana, and Mississippi. This information is designed to serve as an independent, fact-based, resource for leaders to monitor and evaluate rebuilding efforts."
