Central Mumbai Gets Land Windfall From Government

India's Supreme Court has approved the controversial sale of prime government-owned land in the heart of the financial capital, Mumbai.

Old Textile Mills that have been shut and boarded up since the early eighties have been cleared by the supreme court for private development. This will have a significant impact on Mumbai's urban character, with 600 acres opening up for new residential, office and retail space adjacent to the financial district.
