Named lead urban design and masterplanning firm, RTKL is working with The Los Angeles Arena Land Company LLC, owners and operators of the new STAPLES Center, to create a 33-acre vibrant, urban district on the southern edge of downtown – along the Figueroa Corridor, adjacent to STAPLES Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center. The mix of uses planned for the district – hotel, entertainment, retail, residential and office as well as a major public plaza – will enrich and enliven downtown Los Angeles and complement other significant cultural, entertainment and residential projects underway. It is anticipated that the district would attract more than 6 million visitors annually.
