In the late 1970s and early 1980s, U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan led an effort to save one of Louis Sullivan's greatest works, the Guaranty Building in Buffalo, New York. In 2002, Hodgson Russ, based in Buffalo, and one of the 200 largest law firms in the United States, purchased the building, which also houses the Western New York office of Moynihan's successor, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Today, Hodgson Russ announced the beginning of interior renovations, to be completed before the firm moves all of its offices into the building in 2007.
