The Grouse timber sale in the Tahoe National Forest is being criticized by the American Lands Alliance, a national environmental group, as one of the twelve worst in the nation.Environmental group says that the sale could damage over 2000 acres of habitat for the California spotted owl and other imperiled species."Forest Service officials disagreed and said thinning overstocked stands is necessary to reduce the threat of catastrophic fires."
