An analysis of three military sites will be released today in an effort to narrow down the choices for re-siting the Lindbergh Field international airport, a decision facing voters in November.
Against unwavering opposition from the military, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority has identified three Navy or Marine Corps sites with existing runway infrastructure as the most fitting locations for a relocated and expanded international airport. But the proposal to introduce civilian flights into active military airfields has the Navy and Marine Corps up in arms.
