Miami's Preeminent Suburb Turns Ten

Meticulously planned down to the last cul-de-sac, Weston, Florida continues to be Miami's most sought after suburb.

With excellent public schools, efficient government services, a stable tax base, and lusciously landscaped homes, Weston, FL, is the envy of many neighboring communities.

As the city celebrates its 10th birthday this week, residents and officials are touting the high standards that make this suburban paradise a reality.

Calling itself the "nation's premier municipal corporation", Weston employs a fleet of contract workers, and also mobilizes "neighborhood code enforcement volunteers who patrol neighborhoods in search of brown hedges, illegal basketball hoops and dirty mailboxes".

What's next for the city? Plans include a brand new county library and impressive regional park.

"It's [also] focused on building a city hall and an ice arena, and on spending nearly $8 million over the next three years to replace landscaping damaged by Hurricane Wilma."
