The new Excelsior & Grand town center in St. Louis Park is doing good business -- so good in fact, that itâ€™s hard to find parking space.

The parking issues reflect some of the problems that arise when an urban style development, sans the "acres of asphalt" that typically accompany a project of its size, is placed within the context of a suburban community.

Furthermore, "Neighbors of the 15-acre high-density project who nervously supported it as a much-needed civic focal point, are getting jittery again as they see developers eying more and more of Excelsior Boulevard for projects that might make the area even more dense."
