A planned 7.5 mile path for downtown Indianapolis promises to connect historic districts, public art, and cultural sites, as well as the city's greenways. Now, with a $15 million donation from Gene and Marilyn Glick---local real estate developers as well as long time arts and culture philanthropists---the Indianapolis Cultural Trail will break ground in 2007, to be completed in three phases by 2009. The walking trail, which has a total budget of about $50 million, will connect five urban cultural districts with decorative pavement tiles, landscaping, and public art. In honor of the Glick's substantial gift, it will be subtitled "A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick."
