The new site, the latest in a growing number of online tools used to cultivate investment, allows companies to research demographics, find vacant parcels, and identify business assistance programs.
Back in the roaring '90s, digital luminaries declared that businesses either go online or out of business.
Milwaukee 7 launched a new website found at www.ChooseMilwaukee.com to entice investors interested in Midwest expansions. The website features vital tools that Milwaukee has never seen before: interactive maps supplemented by aerial photos that target available land, offices, warehouses, and factories which are cataloged accordingly and can be accessed based upon user specifications.
ChooseMilwaukee.com promotes the district as a focal point of economic growth. Competitive advantages are highlighted by demographics detailing local income levels, business competition, quality of life assets and other pieces of information vital to the site selection process.
The implementation of the new website database is vital to the region's future growth prospects. 90% of corporate site searches are initiated online. Pat O'Brien, M-7's executive director stated "You have to be in the game to play the game and Milwaukee obviously hasn't been in the game."
According to Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, The M-7 website will play an important role in "...an economic plan that will highlight the regions strengths and spell out specific opportunities for employment growth and economic development."
