Curbed Los Angeles names its hysterical 2006 winners for "The NIMBY Award", "Dumbest Planning Scheme", "Broker Boys & Babes Awards", and our favorites, the "Most Horrendous McMansion of the Year" and the "Worst Garagemahal."
From Los Angeles' "Most Horrendous McMansion" of the year award:
"WINNER: We go back to February 2006 to McMansion Envy #011 at 9649 Paso Robles in Northridge. The 2004-built, 5 bed/4 bath stucco and wood home sadly remains on the market today, having suffered a $170,000 price chop." Includes photos at:

"This 2004-built, 5 bed/4 bath stucco and wood concoction in Northridge has all of the amenities a mcmansion dweller could ever need: library/study, Viking pro appliances, marble jacuzzi tub and the mandatory granite kitchen. Retail Price: $1,790,000."
In the category of "Dumbest Planning Scheme" award, Curbed Los Angeles names the 710/Port Maglev:
"If you're talking about Los Angeles, the craziest plans come from the realm of transportation, i.e. how to solve our traffic gridlock. While monorails fall apart in other cities, the idea still holds some odd sway over the populace here. And then there's the Maglev - a billion dollar, monorail on steroids (magnets), that will swoosh people and cargo around the metro area. Pollution free floating trains! Too bad it costs so much and there are better alternatives."

And of course, no Top 2006 list would be complete without the most attractive Real estate brokers 'boys and babes':
