New report by the Census Bureau based on 1998 data says families with both working parents are now a majority.

"As might be expected, families in which both parents were employed had higher incomes than those in which only one worked. According to the report, 55 percent of the dual- employed couples had annual incomes of $50,000 and over, compared with 40 percent of the couples in which only the husband worked. "
