Believed to be a first for Fort Lauderdale (and possibly citizens elsewhere) residents opposed to a 15-story, 387 foot long boat storage facility in the City have created a website and video on YouTube asking City Commissioners to stop the project.
The website contains graphics that show the potential shadow to be created by the project, and the effect of the shadow on existing surroundings. Links lead from the website to the staff report written by city planners recommending against the project and to newspaper articles in the Sun-Sentinel. Citizen-initiated internet opposition to a project (as opposed to local government use of the internet to collect citizen input)may represent a new avenue of public input.
