The Greenbelt Alliance highlights seven Bay Area ballot measures approved by voters November 7.
The decisive passage of many of the measures reveals Bay Area residents' frustration with sprawl and worsening gridlock. Among multiple measures seeking to preserve open space and combat sprawl, Measure K in San Jose received an astounding 81% of the vote to establish an urban growth boundary, making it one of the largest cities in the county to have a voter-approved urban growth boundary. The Greenbelt Alliance pledges to continue its work with citizens to control sprawl, preserve open space, and address issues of traffic and affordable housing.
