"Houston City Council voted 11-4 Tuesday to allow the Metropolitan Transit Authority to use city streets for a planned light-rail line from the University of Houston-Downtown to Reliant Park." Opponents charge that the project is not an efficient use of public monies. Proponents argue that this line will serve as a central point for future connections and expansion.
