A new United Nations report highlights the problems of prosperity and poverty in world's most livable city.
While some have lauded the planning achievements in the City of Vancouver, the UN highlights the major gaps between the rich and poor in the City. The City is home to a neighborhood with "a Hepatitis C (HCV) rate of just below 70 per cent and an HIV prevalence rate of an estimated 30 per cent-the same as Botswana's". Indeed, a "world of violence and desperation exists in Vancouver that is literally steps away from some of the most expensive and coveted real estate in North America".
