We are going to see "some dramatic changes as municipalities begin to take advantage of these long-ignored recreational gold mines. Almost every city and town from Tempe to Apache Junction is buildingor planning to build paved multiuse paths along their canals."The Federal government is offering grants to build concrete paths to encourage walking instead of driving for short trips. There is so much interest in trails that one county has formed a trails commission.
