These are among 16 new ideas to help newsrooms engage their communities that will receive funding next year from the Pew Center for Civic Journalism. Among the projects funded: an interactive, community-based plan for developing the Everett's two waterfronts, and an online effort to help the booming coastal tourist community of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina plan and control growth.
