Environmentalists Filing Suit To Protect Tampa Bay

Concerned that state officials are not doing enough, aggravated residents plan to take their concerns to federal court.

"Residents say they will turn to the courts for the environmental protection of Tampa Bay. Local residents say they don't believe state and federal regulators are doing enough to protect Tampa Bay from pollution, so they plan to take their concerns to federal court. Under the provisions of the Clean Water Act, the group Save Our Bay, Air and Canals has served notice of plans to file a lawsuit against Tampa Electric Co., the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency within 60 days."
