Criteron Planners, a certification reviewer for the LEED for Neighborhood Development program, offers its analysis of LEED-ND pilot project locations and areas.
LEED for Neighborhood Development is the U.S. Green Building Council rating system that integrates the principles of smart growth, new urbanism, and green building technologies. Criterion was recently selected by the U.S. Green Building Council to be the prime certification reviewer for LEED-ND.
Criterion Planners examines 205 projects registered in 39 states and the District of Columbia. Criterion looks as the surrounding location, travel and area characteristics of pilot project.

The median project size is 30 acres; the mean project size is 298 acres.
