Six More National Monuments Created

As one of his final acts as President, Clinton creates 6 additional national monuments. One is in central California.

By creating national momuments, the Interior Department is able to impose restrictions on mining, logging, commercial development, and on the use of off road vehicles. The newest designations are also in Montana, Idaho, Arizona and New Mexico.
