Industrial waste, sofas, plastic bottles, a sink and a skateboard are just a few of the items that Lewis MacAdams saw in the 51-mile L.A. River. He has been working for over 15 years to improve the situation. He founded Friends of the L.A. River. The recent order to clean it up is seen as major progress.
