Controversy continues in Milwaukee as another public art piece is revealed.

Columnist Mary-Louise Schumacher reviews the latest public art piece headed for Milwaukee's streets, and she isn't impressed. "The city should have put a competitive and public process into motion for a proposed artwork of such permanence and prominence," she writes, "but none of the city officials I talked to could even pinpoint who would have oversight over the design."

"Few things define the urban landscape like public art. For a community that takes pride in its identity as an "art city," with an art museum as its icon, we have a woeful track record of taking public art seriously..."
