Ohio's Dirty Secret: Brownfields

The Ohio EPA, has started to clean some of its brownfield sites, but the list of brownfield properties is no longer public.

"Although many government agencies routinely make important information available on the Internet and through other methods, the Ohio EPA no longer makes its list of polluted properties public. "We don't have a (public) list because we aren't allowed to keep one," said EPA Director Christopher Jones. Last year, the state environmental Review Appeals Commission ordered the EPA to stop publishing its list of contaminated sites after Dayton Power & Light filed a complaint."
