Regional planners forecast huge increases in passenger traffic for Burbank and Palmdale over the next 25 years.
Southern California Association of Governments says that Burbank traffic will double by 2025. Some say that these projections may be unrealistic, especially since the new Burbank terminal has been stalled since the early 1980s. Palmdale will need a high-speed rail service, free parking and discounted tickets. It is felt that decentralization is needed because of the limits to LAX expansion.
