"The Willamette River of past, present and future took center stage at Portland City Hall this week, as the City Council unanimously endorsed the first elements of the city's River Renaissance program. The vision lays out five general themes: a clean and healthy river; a prosperous working harbor; "Portland's Front Yard" of access and recreation opportunities; vibrant waterfront districts and neighborhoods; and partnerships, leadership, and education. Each has more detailed suggestions for action."
