"Local parks got the largest single infusion of cash in California history when state officials unveiled allocations totaling $388 million from a ballot measure approved last year...Proposition 12, the $2.1 billion Park Bond Act of 2000, provided $824.5 million for local projects, including $388 million to be distributed on a per capita basis to cities and counties throughout California."
