The Getty has an exhibit on Central European architecture.There are some surprising parallels and contrasts in L.A. Wilshire Boulevard and Silverlake, for example, have similarities in Vienna and in the architecture of Otto Wagner and Camillo Sitte. It's not about creating a whole new place. L.A. is always trying to reinvent itself. "It's just about making it better and stronger..really understanding what it's about."
