Redevelopment and reuse of a dreamy old army base in Sausalito is causing a dispute between the park service and the city.
"The battle over Ft. Baker's future is far from resolved and many fear it may end up in court. The city of Sausalito is at odds with the National Park Service and its plans for putting in a hotel that may bring in desperately needed [funds], but townsfolk say could also cause environmental damage and create traffic in the pristine spot." The project is headed for the courts.
