Fort Worth, Texas planners examine how to convert a train station to an upscale hotel.
"Under the plan, the authority would own the hotel and the developers would hire a hotel management company to run it. Within 10 years, the hotel could revert to private ownership and go back on the tax rolls. But city officials said their first priority is paying for the proposed Fort Worth Convention Center hotel, which is estimated to cost between $70 million and $80 million and is scheduled to be open in late 2003 or early 2004."
