About 40 architects, developers and other experts hwill use the principles to help the arena architects. The five principles guiding the development include: (1) Memorable so that it captures the region's distinctive architectural characteristics and shies from trendy designs; (2) The foundation for a lively "sports and entertainment district," with inviting colors and attractive gathering spaces; (3)A catalyst for development around it that will keep the neighborhood active 18 hours a day every day of the week; (4) People-friendly with inviting places to walk, good lighting and public art; and (5) Practical so that it stays within budget, keeps to construction timelines, and considers parking needs and traffic patterns.
