Canada's Federal Environment Minister David Anderson announced funds for cities and towns making efforts to be more environmentally sensitive.
"Cities and towns that are trying to be more environmentally sensitive will get a total of $3.6-million for their efforts this year...Some of the projects include generators in Calgary that use landfill gas to create electricity, cleaning processes in Mississauga that will reduce greenhouse gases produced by the city's buildings and water treatment procedures in Montreal that will reduce the use of ozone, a smog-causing gas, in purifying the city's water."
